Head Coach, Jeff Franz

During the school year, Jeff is busy coaching the Riverside High School swim team.  He brings a wealth of swimming and coaching experience to the Marlins.  Jeff swam for Pinegate Gators, Lake County Central YMCA, Mentor High School, Lake Erie Silver Dolphins, team Viking and Solon Stars.  He started his coaching career at the Central YMCA and has coached for the Pinegate Swim team as well.

Coach Steve Franz: 13-15 Age Group

Steve Franz will be returning to coach the Marlins again this summer.  Steve's swimming obsession began at the age of 4 years old, swimming for the Pinegate Swim team.  His love for the sport took him to the Central YMCA, Lake Erie Silver Dolphins and the University Swim club.  During the off season, Coach Steve completed his teaching degree at the University of Dayton.  He also acts as assistant head coach for the Riverside High School swim team.

Coach Oliver Curwen:  11-12 Age Group

A big Marlin welcome back to Coach Oliver!  Coach Oliver began his swimming career in Toronto, Canada his hometown during high school.  Coach Oliver swam competitively during his university years at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario.  While in Canada, he swam under Dr. Jeno Tihanyi, Alex Baumann's former coach.  (Alex is a two time Canadian gold medal winner, 1984 Olympics.)  Coach Oliver currently coaches at the Central YMCA in Painesville.  His favorite stroke in the butterfly.

Coach Allison Cordek: 9-10 Age Group

Many of you probably recognize this name: Coach Allison stared her swimming career with the Mentor Marlins at the age of 8 years old!  Her swimming experience includes the Central YMCA, Lake Erie Silver Dolphins and Gilmour Academy.  She currently holds several records in the 250 and 500 meter butterfly and freestyle, her favorite strokes.

Coach Carrie Kaczmarek: 8-Under Age Group

Carrie will be a senior at Riverside High School this coming year. She is also taking classes at Lakeland Community College. She started swimming with The Mentor Marlins at age 8. Has been swimming for The Lake Erie Silver Dolphins since she was 10 years old.  Carrie also swims for the Riverside High School swim team. Her favorite event is the 200 IM. Last year, she volunteered for the Mentor Marlins and we are happy to have her as the 8-under coach this year. Welcome Carrie.
