Head Coach Steve Franz:

Steve Franz will be returning to coach the Marlins again this summer.  Steve's swimming obsession began at the age of 4 years old, swimming for the Pinegate Swim team.  His love for the sport took him to the Central YMCA, Lake Erie Silver Dolphins and the University Swim club.  During the off season, Coach Steve completed his teaching degree at the University of Dayton.  He also acts as assistant head coach for the Riverside High School swim team.
 

Coach Robert Haag:

Bob began coaching at The Lake County Central YMCA as an assistant (before they were the Penguins – they used to be the Piranhas!) He was head coach at Pinegate for 9 years from the mid 80’s to the early 90’s and Assistant Coach at Mentor High School in 1984. He became Head coach at Mentor High School from 1985 – 1993. Bob was an Assistant Coach (13-15’s) for the Mentor Marlins in 2004-2005.
 

Coach Michaela Hahn-Lawson:

Michaela swam for the Mentor Marlins from ages 5 -15. She was a High School All American. This is Michaela’s second season as a coach, having been the 9 – 10 Coach for the Mentor Marlins in 2004.  She swam four years at The Ohio University and was a four time All Mid American Conference Selection and Mid American Conference Champion three times as a member of relays.  Swimming the breaststroke leg, Michaela was a University Record setter in the 200 Medley Relay last year en-route to winning a team Conference Championship. She is on The Ohio University All Time Top Ten in four individual events (200 IM, 400 IM, 100 Breast, and 200 Breast) and several relays.
 

Coach Carrie Kaczmarek:

This is Carrie's second season coaching the 8 & unders on the Mentor Marlins. She started swimming with the Marlins at the age of 8 and Lake Erie Silver Dolphins at the age of 10. This past winter, she finished up her high school swimming career at Riverside where she was co-captain of her team. In the summer, Carrie also lifeguards and teaches swim lessons at the Outdoor Family Center in Perry.
